ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has sent an advice to President Mamnoon Hussain seeking his approval over the extension and application of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Local Government (Amendment) Act, 2016 to the Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA), said a press release of the PM Office Media wing on Monday.
“The president, in terms of Rule 15A (1) of the Rules of Business, 1973, is advised to approve the extension of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act No XIV of 2016) to PATA vide para 1 read with para 3, along with draft notification (Annex-IV), under Article 247 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973, as proposed”, the statement said.
Separately, the prime minister has sent another advice to the president to accord his assent to the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Bill, 2016 under Article 75 of the Constitution of Pakistan, as proposed, the PM Office press release added.
