BATTAGARAM: The district council on Thursday failed to present annual budget for financial year 2016-17 as opposition parties staged walkout from the session.
The district council meeting was attended by a good number of opposition and treasury councillors, with convenor Faheem Akbar in the chair.
Lashing out at the treasury councillors, the opposition said that they were not being taken into confidence on many issues regarding the passage of the budget for the year 2016-17.
Addressing the council meeting, District Nazim Atta ur Rehman said that talks were underway to bring back the opposition members and the budget would be passed after the reservations of the opposition councillors were removed.
The council meeting has been convened for Friday.
