GHALLANAI: The political administration on Monday seized 300 square metres of land near the site of a bomb blast belonging to the Duwizai tribe in Pandyalai tehsil of Mohmand Agency. The administration also decided to expel the families of the tribesmen from the area and demolish their houses for their failure to surrender the wanted persons. The decision was announced by the Assistant Political Agent Naveed Akbar Khan during a meeting with the elders of Duwizaitribe held at the Yakaghund Jirga Hall here.
Tribal elders Malik Suhbat Khan, Malik Ibrahim and others were also present.
Naveed Akbar informed the elders that the administration seized 300 square meters of land near the site where a bomb blast occurred in Duwizai a few days ago. He said the decisions taken in a joint jirga of the security forces, political administration and local elders held in June last would be implemented.
He said the tribespeople were bound to fulfill their responsibility under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation. The tribal elders urged the political administration and security forces to decide the matters under the collective responsibility clause on merit according to the local norms and traditions.
Meanwhile, the political administration made announcements through loudspeakers across Mohmand Agency, asking the people to remain vigil during EidulFitr and keep an eye out for any suspicious behavior to avert untoward incidents.
