KARACHI – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that hot and dry weather will continue in several parts across Pakistan including Karachi.
According to the PMD, boiling weather is likely to prevail in Karachi with temperature expected to rise from 38C to 40C. The hot spell will continue for the next two days. The doctors have advised several precautionary measures to general public, which include minimum exposure to the sun, maximum use of water and staying under shed during the day time.

However, heavy rains with thunderstorm are likely in some parts of Pakistan including Gilgit-Baltistan and Hazara division whereas strong winds are expected across Azad Kashmir. The weather department had earlier forecast a searing spell of hot weather in Karachi and adjoining areas on weekend.
In a statement, the Met office said that the citizens of Karachi could suffer from heatwave due to rising temperature and advised citizens to remain indoors, avoid sun exposure and ensure maximum use of water.
It further advised citizens to stay under shed during the day time. “Due to a high pressure cell, the winds will take turn from southwesterly to northwesterly gradually which will bring hot and dry air mass to Karachi and other coastal areas cutting the sea breeze,” a statement by the Met office said earlier this week.
Day temperatures will gradually increase on Friday from 38C to 40C on Sunday and then it will start decreasing attaining the normal level on Wednesday. Winds will start blowing from the sea restoring the sea breeze.
