ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad on Monday.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall situation of the country and exchanged views on matters of national importance. The two leaders also reviewed the ongoing development projects, energy projects, security situation, state of the national economy, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Both the leaders agreed that the completion of CPEC would usher in an era of progress and prosperity for the whole country. They reiterated that operation Zarb-e-Azb would continue till its logical conclusion.
The two leaders praised the sacrifices of the armed forces and the law enforcement personnel in the fight against terrorism and extremism. They resolved that determination of the nation would deter and defeat all the evil forces and the country would be put on the path to progress.
Both the leaders reviewed the regional situation and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to have friendly relations with all the neighboring countries for peace and prosperity in the region. The prime minister briefed the president on policies and decisions of the government on various issues.
PM Nawaz said that the government would continue pursuing its agenda of economic development for the overall national progress. The president noted with appreciation that the national economy was thriving due to the sound economic policies of the government.
President Mamnoon congratulated PM Nawaz on regaining good health and expressed his optimism that the prime minister would continue to serve the people of Pakistan with full vigour.
